With the health of the environment declining, Maximuck’s felt it was time to implement new systems.
The eco-friendly concept originated with the tomato greenhouse. The tomatoes are planted in organic matter and grown using recycled bags. An integrated pest control system (where insects control insects) is utilized.
Several years later, the construction of the hydroponic greenhouse was under way. It is now filled with many varieties of lettuce that are grown using water, eliminating the use of soil and pesticides. The result is a cleaner, more nutritious product for the consumer.
Solar panel installation, the largest eco-friendly project thus far at Maximuck’s was completed in early 2010. Maximuck’s is now run almost entirely by solar energy! Read more about how Matt Maximuck brought the Green Initiative to life!
